Roads around Air Force Base Waterkloof are very busy during expo and air show days.
We have two key transport options to the show. Both let you leave your car well clear of the congestion.
Gautrain and the complimentary shuttle
Ride the rail
The smartest way into AAD2026 isn’t on the road - it’s on the rails.
Gautrain is running a complimentary shuttle service for AAD2026, connecting Centurion Station directly to Air Force Base Waterkloof.
Catch the Gautrain to Centurion Station, take a short ride to the show via Gautrain bus. No road closures, no queues at the boom, no circling for a parking bay.

Park and Ride
Park. Relax. Ride in.
The easiest way in isn’t a route. It’s a parking spot.
Leave the traffic to someone else. Park at one of four Park and Ride points around Centurion and Pretoria East, and ride straight in to AFB Waterkloof compliments City of Tshwane.

Road closures map
Please be advised that several roads around the vicinity of Waterkloof will be closed for the duration of the event. The following road closures will be in effect:- R21 and M10 (Solomon Mahlangu Drive): Hard locks at the junction where the R21 meets the M10 at Solomon Mahlangu Drive, for traffic coming from Kempton Park.
- Veldpou Street near Sasol Dastek: A hard lock will be in place on Veldpou Street, close to the Sasol Dastek area.
- Trichardt Road and Kruger Avenue: For those coming from Centurion, there will be a hard road closure at the intersection of Trichardt Road and Kruger Avenue.
- Pierre van Ryneveld & Solomon Mahlangu Dr – Closed (Solomon Mahlangu)

Directions to AAD
From OR Tambo International Airport
- From OR Tambo International Airport take exit 46 for R21 N towards Kempton Park / Pretoria.
- Merge onto R21.
- Take exit 12 for M31 / Nellmapius Drive towards Centurion.
- Turn left onto Nellmapius Dr / M31.
- Turn right onto Van Ryneveld Ave / M28.
From Midrand
- Head northwest toward Old Pretoria Main Rd.
- Turn right onto Old Pretoria Main Rd.
- Take the 3rd left to stay on Old Pretoria Main Rd.
- Take the 1st left onto New Rd.
- Slight right to merge onto N1 towards Pretoria. Partial toll road.
- Continue onto Ben Schoeman Fwy.
- Take the exit towards M10.
- Turn left onto M10.
- Destination will be on the left.
