Exciting Line-Up of speakers unveiled for Humanitarian and Disaster Response Technologies Event, South Africa
Tangent Link is delighted to announce an exciting line up of organisations who have confirmed speakers for the Humanitarian and Disaster Response Technologies conference and exhibition taking place on the 16th-17th September 2010 in Cape Town.
Chaired by Rear Admiral Terry Loughran CB FRAes, this important two day international event, run with the support of the organisers of AAD2010 - Africa Aerospace & Defence 2010, will bring together both civil and military stakeholders to debate and understand the latest technologies available to successfully conduct humanitarian and environmental disaster response operations in Africa.
Senior personnel from the International Federation of the Red Cross, the World Food Programme, South African National Defence Force (SANDF), the Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), International Relief and Development USA, Telecoms sans Frontieres, the Telecommunication Development Bureau of Emergency Communications Switzerland, the European Commission and UNOSAT will also be presenting on the conference programme.
Topics to be covered include Emerging Communications Technologies, Medical Response, Flood Forecasting Systems, International interaction between civilian and military responders in humanitarian emergencies, The Haiti Earthquake, the Pakistan Earthquake, and lessons learnt from the Indian Ocean Tsunami.
